Korean Taco Truck Update

So I got there around 7. Two lines formed: 1 on the corner, and one appx 30 yards away. Truck was late and passed by the line I was in. It went around the corner and stopped near the corner. Everyone in the line I was in had to rush toward the eventual parking spot --- picked the wrong line!!! argh. Sun started to set and it was mid 50s, which was cold for LA. As we neared the truck, information spread that they ran out of beef-shortribs tacos, quesadillas, and nachos. When it was my turn to order, the beef tacos were available again(some people ahead were not to happy with the restock of beef immediately after them)!. So 2 chicken, 2 beef, and 2 pork - $2/taco, and a tapas(burger) which came out to be around $16 + tax(max order was $20/person) I left around 9:20 PM(took in the tapas in my car-spicy mini burger) and got home around 9:40. The tacos were just right, tortilla was awesome, meat was spicy enough. Def not worth the 2 hr wait, but it is going to have you wanting more. Should have ordered a burrito($5) instead of the tapas.
Luckily I had half a footlong Subway Tuna before I got there, so that held me over.
I still have two in my freezer. Wouldn't do it again, but if you're going - make sure you bring some back to me. =)

Started watching since the pilot and started catching up --- on season 2 yesterday.


It is

I cut down my tv time the past couple of years, but usually watch Sports and Fringe on Fox.

It's got fast cars, drugs/addictions, women, sex - like a modern day Miami Vice.

Premise is

The series stars Damian Lewis as Charlie Crews, a detective who was recently released from prison after serving twelve years for a crime he did not commit.

Plotline varies by week, but underlying story is his quest to find out who set him up. Crews in loaded $$$ from the settlement after his release from prison, so that helps him out somewhat --- especially with his transportation.

Show features ex Cowboys cheerleader Sarah Shahi (Det. Dani Reese) as his partner.

-X-Acto foam board cutter was like $15 a regular xacto will break ur hand if u try and cut the foam board with it imo

-most people use spray mount to glue the image to the foam board which works well 3M makes a really good one but its pricy its like $7 for the small can also Elmers makes one as well

-To put the image on ur wall 3M's or Scotch "Mounting Tape" not just double sided tape is what u need. the tape is thick and has a green plaid print on one side. Its very strong and it runs about $5 or $6 for a roll

and last but not least "time" the cutting and glueing took me forever each project took about 4 hours or so to complete

LSU won a big game today vs Auburn

Hatch was knocked out - it was bound to happen. The kid just runs with reckless abandon and doesn't have blazing speed as a QB, and when you are in the SEC that's not a good thing. Looks like the Jarett Lee Era has begun. His arm strength was on display on his first TD pass. Les Miles made what turned out to be brilliant calls and should have gone for two onside kicks. =). The defense held up and that was game. Oh and Charles Scott ran for another 100+ yd game.

So all the talk was on Nike and Adidas, even Li Ning, going into the games.
Well, now that Liu Xiang(Nike), dropped out of his event, the 110M hurdles, Asafa Powell (Nike) and Tyson Gay (Adidas) disappointed --- it's not too early for Puma to make the claim to the title - at least in T&F. Usain Bolt was signed to Puma in 2002. Great investment.

As Usain Bolt held up one of his gold-decked running shoes for the cameras after his historic 100m victory, the Jamaican sprinter struck a blow in another battle for supremacy.

Bolt’s domination of his rivals fulfilled his pre-race tag as favourite, but for Puma, the German sportswear manufacturer whose Theseus II spikes he was wearing, it was a triumph for an underdog.

Puma came to Beijing nowhere near rivals Nike and Adidas in terms of market value and sales, trailing in the number of Olympic athletes contracted to wear its apparel, and behind in the race for a share of the lucrative Chinese market.

But Puma does have Bolt, who goes for two more golds this week. The sight of the fastest man alive lapping up the crowd’s adulation in what may have been the most watched sporting moment of the most watched sporting event of the year gives the company the kind of marketing kick that will have had its rivals quietly fuming.

The 100m final was billed as a showdown between Bolt, his fellow Jamaican Asafa Powell and Tyson Gay, the US world champion, who failed to qualify for the race. But with Bolt signed to Puma, Powell with Nike and Gay with Adidas, it was more than just a running race. “It was a great allusion to the footwear wars,” says Larry Eder, who runs Running Network, an athletics website.

‘You don’t have to have the biggest number of athletes, you have to have the right ones’

The reasoning goes that the company with the most athletes on its books gets the most medals and therefore the better marketing opportunities. Not necessarily so, says Joerg Sobel, Puma’s general manager in the Asia Pacific region. “You don’t have to have the biggest number of athletes, you have to have the right ones.”

As a driver of sportswear sales, the Olympic 100m final is on a level above most other sporting events and, according to Mr Eder, there was “a huge battle” between Puma and Nike to sign up the current crop of talented Jamaican sprinters.

The red-hot frozen yogurt chain gets a big boost from the man who brought you the $4 latte, reports Fortune’s Matthew Boyle.

(Fortune) — Red-hot frozen yogurt chain Pinkberry has received a $27.5 million infusion of cash from Starbucks founder Howard Schultz’s venture capital firm, Fortune has learned.

The deal, which will be announced later today, confirms long-held speculation that Seattle-based Maveron - whose prior investments include eBay, drugstore.com, and Good Technology, now owned by Motorola - sees a bright future for Pinkberry, which was launched two years ago by a failed restaurateur and a former nightclub bouncer. (See story here.)

Schultz was not available to comment, but in a press release touting the deal he called Pinkberry founders Shelly Hwang and Young Lee “visionary entrepreneurs” and labeled their brand “a cultural phenomenon.”

The burgeoning chain now has 32 stores in New York and Los Angeles, and plans to grow by expanding its roster of company-owned stores and franchises. Hwang and Lee told Fortune earlier this year that they hope to have 50 locations by year-end. Stores in Las Vegas and London are also on tap.

Pinkberry’s tart-yet-sweet yogurt, topped with the customer’s choice of fresh berries, granola, or even Fruity Pebbles cereal, has won it a cult following that includes celebrities like Salma Hayek and Paris Hilton. (Mike Tyson once demanded his cookies and cream topping on the bottom, and the staff wisely complied.) It’s pricey - a large green tea with three toppings is nearly ten bucks - but Pinkberry’s largely female clientele doesn’t pinch pennies.
