Rasterbate all over your wall

http://homokaasu.org/rasterbator/

a pretty nice set for recent Laker history.

tips from NT:

Kinkos for printing very inexpensive

Wal Mart or Target for the foam board its like $2.50/board my jay-z one used up 4 boards and the MJ used 5
as for the materials if you have like a art/framing store in your area ie. Michael's or Aarons Bros. in socal even home depot

-X-Acto foam board cutter was like $15 a regular xacto will break ur hand if u try and cut the foam board with it imo

-most people use spray mount to glue the image to the foam board which works well 3M makes a really good one but its pricy its like $7 for the small can also Elmers makes one as well

-To put the image on ur wall 3M's or Scotch "Mounting Tape" not just double sided tape is what u need. the tape is thick and has a green plaid print on one side. Its very strong and it runs about $5 or $6 for a roll

and last but not least "time" the cutting and glueing took me forever each project took about 4 hours or so to complete

FREE PHOTOBUCKET PRO (Reg $39.95)

I used to buy Photobucket PRO for 3 months @ a time, but I just saw a link to an offer on the Photobucket site.

http://photobucket.com/tips (see trialpay)

I completed the offer(there are others) for Netflix(signed up 2 week trial - you can cancel but I might keep it since I don't have it and have always liked it) and immediately I received a code for pro for a year (reg $39.95).

DeMar DeRozan in Nike Hyperdunk Germany Dirk PEs

Sat. Nov. 15, 2008 - USC's top recruit DeMar DeRozan in Nike Hyperdunk Germany Dirk PEs - flag on tongue, 14 (Dirk's national number) on medial side - in his first regular season game vs UCI. USC won 78-55.
"After swishing the first two free throws of his collegiate career, DeRozan made the first shot he took, a 15-footer from the baseline. He finished with 14 points on 6-for-11 shooting and added three rebounds, two steals and an assist with two turnovers in 28 minutes."

DeMar is #10, Dirk is #14 - go figure. Maybe he's just a Dirk fan.

LSU won a big game today vs Auburn

Hatch was knocked out - it was bound to happen. The kid just runs with reckless abandon and doesn't have blazing speed as a QB, and when you are in the SEC that's not a good thing. Looks like the Jarett Lee Era has begun. His arm strength was on display on his first TD pass. Les Miles made what turned out to be brilliant calls and should have gone for two onside kicks. =). The defense held up and that was game. Oh and Charles Scott ran for another 100+ yd game.

Usain Bolt - Puma nailed it on this one

So all the talk was on Nike and Adidas, even Li Ning, going into the games.
Well, now that Liu Xiang(Nike), dropped out of his event, the 110M hurdles, Asafa Powell (Nike) and Tyson Gay (Adidas) disappointed --- it's not too early for Puma to make the claim to the title - at least in T&F. Usain Bolt was signed to Puma in 2002. Great investment.

The link to the text article below. Also Puma's Bolt section on their website - there is an interactive game and Chasingbolt Youtube account.

Bolt gives Puma headstart in sales

By Roger Blitz

Published: August 17 2008 20:33 | Last updated: August 17 2008 20:33

As Usain Bolt held up one of his gold-decked running shoes for the cameras after his historic 100m victory, the Jamaican sprinter struck a blow in another battle for supremacy.

Bolt’s domination of his rivals fulfilled his pre-race tag as favourite, but for Puma, the German sportswear manufacturer whose Theseus II spikes he was wearing, it was a triumph for an underdog.

But Puma does have Bolt, who goes for two more golds this week. The sight of the fastest man alive lapping up the crowd’s adulation in what may have been the most watched sporting moment of the most watched sporting event of the year gives the company the kind of marketing kick that will have had its rivals quietly fuming.

The 100m final was billed as a showdown between Bolt, his fellow Jamaican Asafa Powell and Tyson Gay, the US world champion, who failed to qualify for the race. But with Bolt signed to Puma, Powell with Nike and Gay with Adidas, it was more than just a running race. “It was a great allusion to the footwear wars,” says Larry Eder, who runs Running Network, an athletics website.

‘You don’t have to have the biggest number of athletes, you have to have the right ones’

The reasoning goes that the company with the most athletes on its books gets the most medals and therefore the better marketing opportunities. Not necessarily so, says Joerg Sobel, Puma’s general manager in the Asia Pacific region. “You don’t have to have the biggest number of athletes, you have to have the right ones.”

As a driver of sportswear sales, the Olympic 100m final is on a level above most other sporting events and, according to Mr Eder, there was “a huge battle” between Puma and Nike to sign up the current crop of talented Jamaican sprinters.

New Starbucks Pinkberry Sorbetto

http://www.starbucks.com/sorbetto/

it's like Pinkberry (after 10 minutes melted) without the toppings. I just used a straw to drink it.

and it only comes in one size 10 oz(small size) for $2.95.

Reasons for why they came out with it(and only in a small size)....they just introduced it to
1)get people to try sample Pinkberry if they haven't tried it, bringing more customers to Pinkberry
2)make Pinkberry enthusiasts want it even more --- if they think it doesn't stack up to the actual Pinkberry dessert
3)option if you can't get to pinkberry.

btw back in Oct of 07 Starbucks sent a $27.5 million cash infusion to Pinkberry to help expand the company's ventures.

Starbucks founder bites into Pinkberry

The red-hot frozen yogurt chain gets a big boost from the man who brought you the $4 latte, reports Fortune’s Matthew Boyle.

October 16 2007: 10:50 AM EDT

(Fortune) — Red-hot frozen yogurt chain Pinkberry has received a $27.5 million infusion of cash from Starbucks founder Howard Schultz’s venture capital firm, Fortune has learned.

The deal, which will be announced later today, confirms long-held speculation that Seattle-based Maveron - whose prior investments include eBay, drugstore.com, and Good Technology, now owned by Motorola - sees a bright future for Pinkberry, which was launched two years ago by a failed restaurateur and a former nightclub bouncer. (See story here.)

Schultz was not available to comment, but in a press release touting the deal he called Pinkberry founders Shelly Hwang and Young Lee “visionary entrepreneurs” and labeled their brand “a cultural phenomenon.”

The burgeoning chain now has 32 stores in New York and Los Angeles, and plans to grow by expanding its roster of company-owned stores and franchises. Hwang and Lee told Fortune earlier this year that they hope to have 50 locations by year-end. Stores in Las Vegas and London are also on tap.

Pinkberry’s tart-yet-sweet yogurt, topped with the customer’s choice of fresh berries, granola, or even Fruity Pebbles cereal, has won it a cult following that includes celebrities like Salma Hayek and Paris Hilton. (Mike Tyson once demanded his cookies and cream topping on the bottom, and the staff wisely complied.) It’s pricey - a large green tea with three toppings is nearly ten bucks - but Pinkberry’s largely female clientele doesn’t pinch pennies.

Steve Kerr wearing Lebron III 3 photo

http://www.nba.com/finals2008/lakers_080607.html

(Quick aside: At the 2006 NBA All-Star Saturday night in Houston, Steve Kerr was competing in the Haier (then RadioShack) Shooting Stars competition as the San Antonio "legend" along with Tony Parker of the Spurs and Kendra Wecker of the Silver Stars. Kerr forgot to pack sneakers for the trip and had to borrow his 13 year old son's Zoom LeBron IIIs. When James saw Kerr wearing his sneakers he said, "Steve Kerr might not miss a shot today. Look at those shoes he got on." Turns out James was prophetic, as Kerr, Parker and Wecker went on to win the shoot out.)

Shaq to Nash: 'I will not let you down'

Shaq to Nash: 'I will not let you down'

Paul Coro
The Arizona Republic

Shaquille O'Neal is on his way to Phoenix, literally.

O'Neal's physical exam is the only prerequisite for Phoenix's acquisition of O'Neal for Shawn Marion and Marcus Banks to take place today. O'Neal is on a flight to the Valley this morning and is scheduled to arrive midday.

The expectation is that O'Neal will pass the physical and a trade call will be placed with the league to consummate the deal by the end of the day. O'Neal could even be in attendance at US Airways Center tonight for Phoenix's 7 p.m. game with New Orleans.

Although O'Neal has been out with a hip injury, there is a belief that he will pass the physical because he is in great condition and is said to be at 312 pounds (down from his listed 325 pounds) with low body fat.

He seems to be a motivated player too, having jumped on a plane this morning after talking to several of the Suns, such as Steve Nash and Amaré Stoudemire, on Tuesday night.

"I will not let you down," O'Neal told Nash on the phone.

O'Neal's soon-to-be former teammates are in Detroit today.

"Nothing has been completed," Heat coach and President Pat Riley told the Miami Herald today. "These things have backed up before."

The Herald, which broke the trade's news Tuesday, also quoted Heat star Dwyane Wade, saying, "I have no reaction because I don't know the truth. Until that time comes, this is the NBA. I'm not surprised at anything."

Phoenix will have to sign another player after completing the trade because it will be one man shy of the league's 13-man roster minimum. Richie Frahm would likely be a possibility because he spent training camp and preseason with the Suns and was recently with the Clippers.

O'Neal's former Lakers teammate, Kobe Bryant, was quoted in today's Los Angeles Times as saying, "I know he likes warm weather. Other than that, I don't think too much about it."

New Orleans/BCS Game was awesome!!

I was in town compliments of Allstate for the BCS Championship.

I got some recommendations from a post online beforehand

http://niketalk.yuku.com/sreply/288276/t/Any-recommendations-for-my-trip-to-New-Orleans-.html

So I wasn't able to get to Dick and Jennys on Sat, since we got in late around 10...and Sunday and Monday they were closed. They open around 5PM so Tuesday I went home without being able to visit.

Plum St. Snowballs(near Tulane University) was closed for the season(not sure when they open again), so I went down the street (by referral by the lady who told me Plum St. Snowballs was closed) to this shop called Queen of the Ball.
Norma who runs the shop was very hospitable...got a Strawberry w cream snowball...it was awesome, but warning your mouth will bleed artificial red until you get back to rinse and brush...

Beignets and Cafe Au lait at Cafe Du Monde - they also have a satellite location in the Riverwalk...there is a also a nice little cafe in that shopping area called Creole Delicacies - homemade taste - I had their lunch specials twice - red beans and rice/Cajun Pork Roast one day and "Slap Ya Mama" Baked Chicken and the sweet tea is great!
Here is a link to their menu -

http://www.cookincajun.com/pdfs/Cookin%20Cajun%20Cafe%20Menu%20(3).pdf

They also offer cooking classes and the store for cooking is the main storefront.
also try Cafe Beignet on Royal - I liked their cajun hashbrowns
I couldn't get to Domelise for PoBoys due to time contraints but I went to Johnny's Po Boys on Saint Louis St. in the French Quarter and the ham and cheese was awesome(that's just my favorite sandwich anywhere - I really should have tried the Crab or Shrimp - next time).
also don't take the cab, I only took it once on the last day bc I was pressed for time, but the Haitian dood didn't even know where plum st(near Tulane) was..he also took his time with the route going the long route..letting people turn and pass just to run up the fare.
Just take the RTA streetcar(I took it back to Canal St/French Quarter) - it's only 1.25 until you get off of the car.

BCS Bowl was awesome..first time in the Superdome...I was pulling for LSU but really have no allegiances to college football - can't really say too much for the lowly Terrapins of UMDCP or Cal St Long Beach's nonexistent football program. Might just start rooting for LSU.
